This Body Massage course is considered
the foundation course for the holistic therapist, but is a step
higher than the Swedish Massage Course which is commonly offered.
Successful candidates will be able
to join a recognised governing body, become fully insured, and practice
professionally. |
The
course is supplemented with a full course file and reading material
containing directed learning and exercises. This will take you through
to completion of a nationally accredited diploma in Body Massage (level
3).

CONTENT & WHAT YOU WILL LEARN |

- Anatomy & Physiology
- The basics of Therapeutic Body
Massage, and guidance on how to develop a massage routine for
each individual client.
- More advanced techniques such
as Neuromuscular Technique, Stretching & Acupressure Points.
- Development of a holistic approach
- treating the 'mind, body and spirit'.
- The proper application of massage
techniques and use of body posture.
- The benefits of massage and its
contraindications.
- Identification and location of
body surface landmarks - including muscles and bones.
- Professionalism, Ethics and Hygiene

EXAMINATION |

- Practical Observation
- Completion of a Portfolio
- Case Study Completion - a minimum
of 5 people treated 4 times each. Each case study must be written
up and recorded (further explanation will be given during the
course).
Included with the course is also a VTCT Health & Safety module
which is accompanied with self study task

THE
EXAMINATION BODY - VTCT |

| The
Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) is an awarding body offering
vocational qualifications in Complementary Therapy and Bodywork. VTCT
is recognised and regulated by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority
(QCA), and the Department of Education and Employment. VTCT is an
independent examining body that offers impartiality and objectivity
in its examinations.
Successful
completion of this diploma course will provide you with the title
of "Body Massage Therapist", and the knowledge
and techniques needed to give a treatment.
VTCT
is recognised by insurance companies for professional liability
insurance.
Practitioner
insurance is also available upon successful completion of the course. |
