A
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) course comprising techniques that
help the lymphatic system to function effectively. It can be used
to clear congestion, waste and fluid from the system. It is indicated
for fluid retention, swelling (oedema), cellulite and relaxation
as well as helping detoxify the body and boost the immune system.

COURSE
CONTENT & WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

The
following are a list of some of the topics which are covered on
the course:
- Structure and function of the
lymphatic system including lymphocytes, lymph tissue, lymph vessels,
lymph nodes, ducts, capillaries, spleen
- Main lymph nodes in the head,
neck and body
- Structure and function of vascular
system, including main arteries in head and neck, main veins in
head and neck.
- Interrelationship between blood
and lymph
- Client handling and consultation
- History of Manual Lymphatic Drainage
- Contraindication to Manual Lymphatic
Draining Massage
- The importance of correct hygiene
procedures.
- Explanation and demonstration
of lymphatic drainage
massage techniques including the
four basic strokes (as well as additional methods), that can be
sequenced and applied to any part of the body.
